Clongaddy House

Detached three-bay (two-bay deep) two-storey farmhouse with dormer attic, built 1844, on a cruciform plan centred on single-bay single-storey flat-roofed projecting porch to ground floor; single-bay (two-bay deep) two-storey lower central return (east). Occupied, 1901. Vacant, 1911. Hipped slate roof; pitched slate roof (east), clay ridge tiles, paired red brick Running bond central chimney stacks having stepped capping supporting terracotta pots, central rooflight to rear (east) pitch, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods on rendered slate flagged eaves. Roughcast walls bellcast over rendered plinth with rendered "bas-relief" strips to ends. Segmental-headed central door opening into farmhouse with carved timber surround framing glazed timber panelled double doors having fanlight. Square-headed window openings with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing eight-over-eight timber sash windows. Interior including (ground floor): central hall retaining carved timber surrounds to door openings framing timber panelled doors; and carved timber surrounds to door openings to remainder framing timber panelled doors with timber panelled shutters to window openings. Set in landscaped grounds with rendered piers to perimeter having lichen-spotted shallow pyramidal capping.
