Wood Ville — TULLABARDS LITTLE

Detached three-bay (four-bay deep) two-storey over part basement farmhouse, extant 1840, on a rectangular plan centred on single-bay single-storey projecting porch to ground floor. Restored, 1999. Hipped slate roof on an E-shaped plan with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks on axis with ridge having shallow stringcourses below capping supporting yellow terracotta octagonal pots, and cast-iron rainwater goods on slightly overhanging slate flagged eaves retaining cast-iron hoppers and downpipes. Pigmented lime rendered slate hung walls; rendered walls (porch) on cut-granite plinth with rendered pilasters supporting ogee-detailed cornice on blind frieze. Round-headed window openings (porch) with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing three-over-six timber sash windows having fanlights. Round-headed opposing door openings ("cheeks") with cut-granite steps, and carved timber surrounds framing glazed timber panelled doors having fanlights. Segmental-headed door opening into farmhouse, timber doorcase with engaged colonette-detailed pilasters supporting archivolt framing glazed timber panelled double doors having fanlight. Square-headed window openings with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing six-over-six timber sash windows centred on three-over-three timber sash window (first floor). Square-headed window openings to rear (east) elevation centred on segmental-headed window opening (half-landing), cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing six-over-six timber sash windows centred on six-over-six timber sash window without horns having fanlight. Interior including (ground floor): central hall retaining carved timber surrounds to door openings framing timber panelled doors, and decorative plasterwork cornice to ceiling centred on decorative plasterwork ceiling rose; staircase hall (east) retaining carved timber surrounds to door openings framing timber panelled doors with carved timber surround to window opening framing timber panelled shutters on panelled risers, cantilevered staircase on a dog leg plan with wrought iron balusters supporting carved timber banister terminating in volute, carved timber surrounds to door openings to landing framing timber panelled doors, and decorative plasterwork cornice to ceiling; dining room (north-west) retaining carved timber surround to door opening framing timber panelled door with carved timber surrounds to window openings framing timber panelled shutters on panelled risers, cut-veined marble Classical-style chimneypiece, and picture railing below decorative plasterwork cornice to ceiling centred on decorative plasterwork ceiling rose; drawing room (south-west) retaining carved timber surround to door opening framing timber panelled door with carved timber surrounds to window openings framing timber panelled shutters on panelled risers, rosette-detailed cut-veined grey marble Classical-style chimneypiece, and picture railing below decorative plasterwork cornice to ceiling centred on decorative plasterwork ceiling rose; and carved timber surrounds to door openings to remainder framing timber panelled doors with carved timber surrounds to window openings framing timber panelled shutters.
