Detached three-bay single-storey gate lodge with half-dormer attic, built 1887, on a T-shaped plan centred on single-bay single-storey lean-to projecting porch. Occupied, 1911. Hipped gabled slate roof on a T-shaped plan centred on lean-to slate roof (porch), perforated crested terracotta ridge tiles centred on tuck pointed snecked rock faced limestone buttressed chimney stack having cut-granite chamfered capping supporting terracotta or yellow terracotta pots, quatrefoil-perforated timber bargeboards to gables on timber purlins, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods on exposed timber rafters. Cut-granite banded tuck pointed snecked rock faced limestone walls on cut-granite chamfered cushion course on plinth with cut-granite flush quoins to corners. Camber- or segmental-headed central door opening with two cut-granite steps, and cut-granite surround having chamfered reveals framing diagonal timber boarded door. Shouldered square-headed flanking window openings in pointed-arch recesses with cut-granite sills, and cut-granite block-and-start surrounds having chamfered reveals framing two-over-two timber sash windows having overpanels. Square-headed window openings to side elevations with square-headed window openings in bipartite arrangement (half-dormer attic), cut-granite sills, and cut-granite block-and-start surrounds having chamfered reveals framing two-over-two (ground floor) or one-over-one (half-dormer attic) timber sash windows. Interior including (ground floor): central hall retaining carved timber surrounds to door openings framing timber boarded doors; kitchen (north) retaining carved timber surround to door opening framing timber boarded door with carved timber surrounds to window openings framing diagonal timber boarded shutters on panelled risers, and carved timber cornice to timber boarded ceiling; parlour (south) retaining carved timber surround to door opening framing timber boarded door with carved timber surrounds to window openings framing diagonal timber panelled shutters on panelled risers, and timber boarded ceiling.
