Dunbrody House — Arthurstown

Detached three-bay single-storey gate lodge with half-dormer attic, extant 1902, on a rectangular plan. Renovated, ----. Replacement pitched slate roof centred on gablet to window opening to half-dormer attic with clay ridge tiles, decorative timber bargeboards to gables with timber finials to apexes, paired "wallhead" central chimney stacks to rear (north) elevation having lichen-covered capping supporting terracotta or yellow terracotta octagonal pots, and uPVC rainwater goods on timber eaves boards on exposed timber rafters. Part creeper- or ivy-covered coursed rubble "Old Red Sandstone" walls with cut-"Old Red Sandstone" flush quoins to corners. Square-headed central door opening approached by flight of three steps with cut-"Old Red Sandstone" voussoirs framing glazed timber panelled door having overlight. Square-headed window openings with cut-limestone sills, and cut-"Old Red Sandstone" voussoirs framing two-over-two timber sash windows having part exposed sash boxes. Set back from road at entrance to grounds of Dunbrody House with rear (north) elevation fronting onto road.
