Attached single-bay single-storey former guard house, dated 1832, attached to north of entrance to former military barracks, set behind screen wall with pair of lean-to structures to either end, now part of Garda station. Pitched slate roof, cement ridge tiles, brick chimneystack and limestone fractables to either end. Cast-iron rainwater goods to limestone eaves course. Coursed rough-hewn limestone walling with tooled flush quoins, cement render to lean-to's and gables. Elliptical-headed recess to west elevation containing square-headed window opening formed in yellow brick having six-over-six timber sash window with convex horns and limestone sill. Square-headed pedestrian entrance gate opening to east elevation with tooled limestone ashlar surround and plain blocking cornice over, with timber panelled door and limestone threshold stone. uPVC window to attic storey to south gable, and uPVC to south lean-to. Tripartite timber sash window to north lean-to c.2000.
