Detached three-bay single-storey Tudor-style gate lodge with dormer attic, c.1825, on a T-shaped plan with single-bay single-storey lower return to south. Pitched slate roofs on a T-shaped plan with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stack on rendered base, cut-limestone coping to gables having finials to apexes, and cast-iron rainwater goods on cut-limestone eaves. Broken coursed squared limestone walls. Square-headed window openings in bipartite arrangement to front (north) and to side (west) elevations with cut-granite flush surrounds having chamfered reveals, and four-over-four timber sash windows. Round-headed window openings to remainder with cut-granite flush surrounds having chamfered reveals, and timber casement windows. Tudor-headed door opening with cut-granite surround having chamfered reveals, and replacement tongue-and-groove timber panelled door. Set perpendicular to road at entrance to grounds of Shankill Castle.
