Glyncastle Colliery cut through the Post Medieval earth of Neath Port Talbot, pulling dark coal from the living rock while men risked their lungs and bones for the fire. The shaft may have swallowed names and light, leaving only a scarred hillside where breath once turned to soot. Whatever remains beneath the grass belongs to that hungry age, when human muscle fed the engines of the world.
