In flat bogland. This circular enclosure (diam. c. 24m) is the middle one of three similar enclosures (see also GA036-015---- and GA036-017----c. 174m and c. 130m to the NE respectively) running in a roughly NE-SW line to the SE of the embankment of the former Galway-Clifden railway line. Like the others, it is constructed entirely of a low bank of the bog (max. H 0.4m; Wth 0.6m) on which it sits. The date and function of the enclosures are unknown. However, they appear to be late features and are marked only on the 1898 resurvey of the OS 6-inch map. They may be associated with Munga Lodge, now ruined, which lies c. 377m to the NW. All three enclosures are clearly visible on current aerial imagery (OSi digitalglobe 2011-2013).
