Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Muckanagh, County Roscommon, Ireland. It sits on a gentle NE-facing slope at the NE end of a low NE-SW drumlin ridge between Grange Lough to the NW and Kilglass Lough to the SE. The circular grass and rush-covered area is defined by an overgrown earthen bank and an outer fosse. There is no identifiable original entrance.
On a gentle NE-facing slope at the NE end of a low NE-SW drumlin ridge between Grange Lough c. 450m to the NW, and Kilglass Lough, c. 200-250m to the SE. Circular grass and rush-covered area (diam. 46.3m NE-SW; 45.7m NW-SE) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3.8-4.6m; int. H 0.3-0.5m; ext. H 1-1.7m) and outer fosse (Wth of top 3.2m at SE to 5-6.6m generally; Wth of base 2m at SE to 3.5-4m generally; D 0.3m at SE to 0.8m generally). There is no identifiable original entrance.
