What is recorded here

Moyge holds a buried oval chamber, mapped repeatedly but never fully seen because brambles and dumped stone hide its true edge. The earthen bank still rises half a metre inside and eighty centimetres outside, marking a boundary people drew across a narrow ridge. It may have excluded cattle, marked ownership or kept something better unspoken, yet the land still treats it as a room rather than a scar.

In tillage, atop N-S ridge. Depicted as hachured square enclosure (c. 20m x c. 20m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; as hachured oval enclosure (c. 30m x c. 22m) on 1905 OS 6-inch map; as hachured, nearly circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on 1936 OS 6-inch map. Interior heavily overgrown and inaccessible; enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.8m). Bank, for most of its circumference, covered with field clearance stones and cut branches. Shape of enclosure could not be determined in field due to overgrowth and dumped material, but most likely oval/circular, as depicted on 1905 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps respectively.
