Mid Knauchland

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Mid Knauchland as Church (period Unknown), Farmstead (post Medieval), Well (period Unknown). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Mid Knauchland is associated with a holy well traditionally linked to Saint Fillan, a 7th-century Irish monk and healer. The well was historically visited for its supposed curative properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and skin, and was a site of pilgrimage and ritual cleansing.
