Hempriggs Castle stood in a Moray field during the reign of James II, belonging to a branch of the Dunbar Family before demolition around 1820. Its stones did not vanish; they reappeared inside the neighbouring farm, turning a lost stronghold into ordinary domestic walls. The castle still breathes through those reused bricks, waiting for someone to notice the shape of what it became.
