Inaltry Castle stands in Moray as a single rubble wall, holding two small niches and a deep circular hole that may have been a well. Local memory called it the Auld Castle at Inaltrie, while a scholar guessed a thirteenth-century date from the wall’s size and bonding. A vault once lay nearby, but it has vanished, leaving only the wall to mark the place where a household, guardroom or small stronghold may have stood.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Inaltry as Castle (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
