Castlehill in Birnie, Moray, is a possible prehistoric settlement where unidentified pottery once appeared, though a 2014 excavation for a new house found no features or artefacts beneath the topsoil. The name suggests a hill that watched over the area before written memory, yet the ground gave up nothing when tested. Perhaps the pottery belonged to someone who lived there briefly and left no trace behind, or perhaps the hill itself erased the evidence. Either way, Castlehill remains a place where absence became the answer.

The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
