Corner-sited end-of-terrace two-bay three-storey with dormer attic house, built c.1860, having two-bay elevation to side (north) elevation. Hipped slate roof with render eaves corbels, rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered wall to front (north) elevation, rendered wall to side (east) elevation having platbands at sill levels and rendered impost band to first storey incorporating label mouldings. Ashlar limestone quoins to north-east corner. Square-headed window openings with rendered sills to side elevation having rendered surrounds with two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Camber-headed window openings with limestone sills to front elevation, having rendered lozenge mouldings with floral and oculus motifs. Two-over-two-pane timber sliding sash windows and tripartite timber framed windows with two-over-two and one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed window opening with ashlar limestone block-and-start surround, limestone sill and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash window. Square-headed door opening to side elevation having glazed timber door with single-pane overlight. Rendered plinth walls to front and sides, having recent wrought-iron railings and square-profile rendered gate piers.

Part of a five building terrace, this building and its neighbours make an imposing group in the streetscape. Comprising a handsome design of central three-bay block flanked by lower pairs of two-bay houses, it is an notable architectural piece. The finely executed stone work and render detailing articulate the terrace. Though some historic fabric has been replaced, it retains notable original features including cast-iron railings, timber sliding sash windows and slate roofs. It is thought to have formally functioned as a military barracks in the nineteenth century.
