Semi-detached two-bay three-storey over basement house, built c.1860, having gable-end bay with canted bay window to front and pitched roof two-storey bay flanked by single-storey bays to side (south-west). Pitched slate roof with overhanging eaves, rendered chimneystacks, gabled dormer window and cast-iron rainwater goods. Ornate carved timber bargeboards to gables. Rendered walls throughout, having rendered sill course to first floor of front elevation. Square-headed window openings with stone sills and render label mouldings throughout. Pointed arch timber frames to front and side elevations having one-over-one and four-over-four pane timber sliding sash windows in single and bipartite arrangements. Multiple-pane timber framed timber casement window to side elevation, having carved timber tracery. Six-over-six, six-over-three and bipartite four-over-four pane timber sliding sash windows to rear elevation. Three-over-three pane timber sliding sash window to dormer window. Square-headed door opening with render label moulding to porch, having timber panelled door and two-pane overlight. Square-headed door opening to basement level of rear elevation, having timber battened door. Rendered enclosing wall with gate piers and wrought-iron gate enclosing basement area. Cast-iron gate-piers and gates front and rear.

This fine house is one of a group of ten semi-detached houses that is an important contributor to the distinct character of Monkstown. These houses were built for wealthy permanent and temporary residents when the area became popular in the nineteenth century as a resort destination. Though some historic fabric has been replaced, the carved timber bargeboards, render detail and timber sliding sash windows are among the surviving original features which add to the group's character and charm.
