Situated on a S-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area overlooking a nearby river to the S. Depicted on the 1st ed. (1840) OS 6-inch map as a large square-shaped enclosure with fosse. No visible remains at ground level. A possible moated site destroyed between 1840 and 1901. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
