This green commemorative plaque records: Known as The Father of Middlesbrough and of the Tees, William Fallows (1797-1889) lived in Commercial Street, west of this site, from 1831 to 1854. He was a great benefactor to the people of Middlesbrough Recorded plaque organisation: Middlesbrough Heritage.
