This blue commemorative plaque records: Vulcan Street Wall This section of the wall is all that remains of the Cleveland Salt Works. In the 19th century Vulcan Street was home to a number of the town's other leading firms including Bolchow Vaughan's first ironworks and the Middlesborough Pottery Recorded plaque organisation: Tees Transport Trail.
The Vulcan Street Wall marks the remnants of the Cleveland Salt Works, a significant industrial site from the 19th century that contributed to Middlesbrough’s growth as an industrial town.
