What is recorded here

In the vicinity of Cill Charna (GA110-159001-). Robinson (1980) noted the existence of 'little huts and middens of seashells ... hidden by thickets under the cliff-face' to S of this ecclesiastical settlement. Considerable quantities of shells, chiefly periwinkle, have also been noted in the vicinity of the old reservoir to SW (pers. comm. C. Manning). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
