Rathnadiff

Rathnadiff is a ringfort hidden inside its own name, preserved in the townland Rathnadoffy rather than exposed as a visible earthwork. The word rath still marks the place where someone built a defensible farmstead during the early medieval period, even if ploughs and centuries have softened the ridge into ordinary Mayan field. The site resists easy description because it has become a living clue: a circular memory buried under grass, waiting for patience instead of tools.
