This blue commemorative plaque records: Levenshulme South Levenshulme South Station was opened in 1892 by the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway, using the Fallowfield Loop Line to access Manchester Central Station. It closed to passengers in 1958, and the line closed in 1968. The building was used for various retail purposes, falling into disrepair. It was restored by and for the community, reopening in 2022
