What is recorded here
Gubadoon is a fairy fort in County Mayo, Ireland, where stone walls still stand though human memory has thinned. It may have sheltered people before becoming a boundary marker for stories about hidden life. The gap between fact and fantasy does not weaken the place; it shows that some traditions outlive the hands that built them.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
