Summerhill College

Attached four-bay two-storey stone school hall, built c. 1910. Pitched slate roof, clay ridge tiles, yellow brick corbelled chimneys, ashlar limestone verge copings to gables with wrought-iron finials at apexes, moulded cast-iron gutters on yellow brick corbelled eaves course, rectangular cast-iron downpipes. Squared-and-snecked rock-faced limestone walling to north, smooth flush string below ground floor window sills, unpainted smooth-rendered walling to west. Square-headed window openings, stone sills, painted six-over-six timber sash windows. Round-headed window to west gable. Square-headed door opening, ashlar stone surround, hardwood panelled door c. 1990, plain-glazed fanlight over. Part of complex of school buildings with main buildings to south. Overlooks grounds to north.

This school hall is tucked away in the corner of a complex of school buildings, its external appearance is uncompromised with original stonework, sash windows and cast-iron rainwater goods all surviving.
