Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lydacan (kiltartan By.)

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lydacan (kiltartan By.) stands in level pastureland as a circular rath about thirty metres across. Its earthen bank, two metres wide and forty centimetres high, still marks most of the circle, though a later field wall has buried the east, south and west sections. The north bank has nearly vanished, leaving only a faint ridge in the grass. An underground passage lies nearby, perhaps cut for shelter, ritual or mischief. People may have lived here, feared here or simply passed around it, depending on the hour and the story they believed.
