What is recorded here
Lisoid still holds the raised rath, an earthwork so old it predates Christian time and now carries scheduled protection. The mound may have served as a boundary marker, a refuge, or a home for people whose names vanished before writing reached the valley. Its shape remains visible enough to identify, yet human enough to imagine: a place where life occurred, was lost, and the land kept the outline anyway.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RAISED RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
