What is recorded here

Lisnagonnell still holds a rath, an earthwork so old it predates every written name. The mound may have sheltered a family, a herdsman or a frightened child during storms that erased all trace of their hands. Its age resists precision, but its shape remains clear enough to imagine life moving around it in darkness.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
