What is recorded here

Lisnagade holds a rath, an ancient earthwork whose boundary still marks the land in County Down. The name appears alone in the official record, pointing to a circular fort or defensive ring rather than a building, road or field. That much is clear: the place belongs to the long human habit of shaping land into reusable form. What is missing is the life that filled it, the hands that built it and the reasons it resisted forgetting.
