What is recorded here

According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) 'Lismortagh' had 'a thatcht house' which in 1640 belonged to 'Phillip Parcivall of Dublyn. English Protestant' (Simington 1931, vol. 1, 177). The present 'Lismortagh House' is a five-bay two-storey over half-basement house with a three-storey central return to the rear. Though the present house is of mid-18th century appearance it may incorporate the fabric of an earlier house. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
