Indicated was a circular rath on the SW side of a Mayo ridge, large enough to hold a household or a hundred secrets, but human activity and time have flattened it into memory. The 1838 map still draws its line, though later surveys forgot it and the land now wears rough pasture and young trees. What remained in 1997 was not a wall but a difference in the ground: stony, hard-packed, and marked by long grass. The fort has not vanished so much as stopped announcing itself, waiting for someone to walk the slope and read the shape beneath the grass.

Located at the break of slope on the SW side of a ridge, in an area of rough pasture which was planted with deciduous trees in the early 1990's. A circular embanked enclosure (diam. 20-25m), possibly a rath, is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, but not on later editions. It has been levelled. When inspected in 1997, the location was evident as a roughly circular area (diam. c. 16-20m) of rough stony, rather hard-packed ground marked by long grass.
