Liscasserla is a damaged Galway ringfort on a steep rise above northern bogland. Its shallow bank still marks a wide oval, though modern breaches cut through the earth. The fort stands exposed on open grass, watching the flat country and the darker water beyond.

On a steep rise in otherwise level grassland overlooking bogland to N. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (N-S 39.5m, E-W 35.5m) defined by a denuded bank. Numerous breaches appear modern. Liscasserla, Gorteen is a poorly preserved, subcircular early-medieval ringfort, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries AD. It is situated on a steep rise overlooking bogland and, like many such sites, may have been associated with local folklore regarding fairy inhabitants or ancient druidic activity.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
