This blue commemorative plaque records: THE BRUNSWICK Known then as the Devonshire Arms this building was described as a “substantial new stone house” in the 1824 sale of Wetherby. It provided an assembly room. Pens for sheep and pigs were erected in Victoria Street on market days and it has the only remaining stable yard. Recorded plaque organisation: Wetherby Civic Society.
The Brunswick, originally named the Devonshire Arms, served as a significant social and commercial hub in Wetherby since the early 19th century, featuring an assembly room and maintaining the town's last extant stable yard.
