This blue commemorative plaque records: DEVONSHIRE ARMS On this site once stood the second Devonshire Arms. The present building was completed in time for Sir Robert Gunter M. P. of nearby Grange Park, to celebrate his victory in the 1892 election. He addressed the crowd from the balcony. Recorded plaque organisation: Wetherby Civic Society.
Sir Robert Gunter, a local landowner and Member of Parliament, celebrated his electoral victory in 1892 at this site with a public address, marking the completion of the present building which replaced the former Devonshire Arms.
