What is recorded here

An unsteady stone of that kind is a living boundary marker. It may have watched herds, weddings, funerals, floods and road works. People moved it rather than break it, which means it still matters. The long stone is not a failed monument. It is a remembered one.

On a roadside grass margin, now mounted on a concrete kerb. Locals say the stone (H 1.1m; Wth 0.4m; T 0.2m) was much larger and has been relocated to its present site.
