What is recorded here

Lismeelaghan is a fairy fort in County Mayo, an earthen ring where the boundary between human and hidden life grows thin. Its name suggests a small enclosed field, perhaps a place where people once drew a line around the sacred or the dangerous. The earth may have held a household, a shrine or a warning before it became a fort in local memory.
