What is recorded here
Leam holds a ruined rath, a circular earthwork from the early Christian period. It is no longer a fortress, but a memory of one, buried under grass and rain. The land remembers the shape of hands that built it.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
