What is recorded here
Indicated is a hidden circular enclosure in County Offaly, drawn on an old survey map yet absent from the ground beside it. The distinction between a boundary and a graveyard remains unresolved, leaving the marker suspended between record and forgetting. It is the kind of place where human life may have turned, loved or vanished while official memory withheld its name.
Depicted as a circular enclosure on the first edition of the OS 6-inch map but not depicted as a graveyard (OF023-004001-). Not visible at ground level.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
