PLATFORM RATH in Largalinny

PLATFORM RATH

What is recorded here

One platform rath still stands in Largalinny, County Fermanagh, not a distant myth but a shaped earthwork where human hands made a boundary visible. It belongs to the Christian era, yet its exact builders have faded from memory. A person may have climbed that wooden or stone edge at dusk, watched the valley darken, and known immediately whether they remained belonging or became strangers.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as PLATFORM RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
