What is recorded here
Ladys Well hides beneath a corbelled stone roof on a Cork hillside, its recess still crowded with votive offerings while rags strangle the surrounding trees. Two small carved figurines and a cross lie forgotten nearby, perhaps discarded when faith shifted or simply lost to time. On August 15th, Mass echoes off the rear altar, proving the well remains a living chamber rather than a dead ruin.

Linked to the Virgin Mary, the well is traditionally associated with healing and fertility, with votive offerings left in the recess as part of devotional practice. The celebration of Mass on August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption, highlights its enduring Catholic and Marian significance in local tradition.
