Knocknaneirk holds a thirty-metre earthen ring beside a working farmyard, its two-metre bank still standing though hedges and piggery doors have bitten into the shape. People called it a fairy fort, which is often what humans say when they refuse to explain the dark rooms inside or admit the land remembers more than ownership. The ring does not need belief to be strange. It only needs a person walking past at dusk, hearing nothing, and feeling watched by the shape of the hole itself.

In pasture, on N side of farmyard. Roughly circular area (30.8m NE-SW) enclosed by earthen bank (H 2m). Bank partially levelled on E side where skirted by avenue. Interior truncated on SW side by piggery entrance; remainder heavily overgrown. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
