What is recorded here
Indicated is a fairy fort in County Mayo, an earthen ring where human history has thinned to legend. Its name sounds like a pointer rather than a home, as if the land still marks the boundary between the seen and hidden worlds. The clay may have held children, lovers or fugitives before the fairies took the house, but that much has vanished. What remains is a circle of pressure in the ground, waiting for someone brave enough to walk its edge at dusk.
