Kilpeacon holds a standing stone identical to the Friarstown monument where giant bones emerged beneath its base. The precise spot has vanished, but the comparison suggests two chambers built for the same extraordinary body. Perhaps a mile apart they guarded opposite ends of one forgotten burial route, waiting for hands strong enough to lift their stones.

The precise location of a standing stone in the townland of Kilpeacon has not been identified. Described by Begley (1906, 21) as following; ‘In Friarstown North, there is a large stone 7 feet high, 5 feet broad, and 1 foot thick, supported by stones set on edge, which being removed, human bones of an extraordinary size were found underneath the monument.
