Settlement cluster in Kilmurry

Settlement cluster

What is recorded here

Kimurry is a lost settlement cluster in County Laois because the exact location of Kilmurry has vanished from human memory. A 1605 document called Kilmurry a village, yet no visible boundary or road name preserves that claim. The place may still exist under a field, road or forgotten ownership name, but the evidence has withdrawn into silence.
Unlocated settlement with the townland of Kimurry, described in a document dated 1605 as the village of Kilmorry (O'Flanagan 1931, vol. 1, p. 97). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 17 December 2007

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
