What is recorded here

Indicated is a ruined ecclesiastical enclosure in County Cork, marked on maps from 1842 and 1904 before quarrying destroyed its western half. It still holds a burial ground and an underground passage, waiting beneath pasture to reveal whether faith or fear built it.

In pasture, commanding view NW along stream valley and Aultagh Wood. Roughly circular area (diam. c. 100m) marked on both editions of OS 6-inch map (1842; 1904); enclosing bank levelled; visible on aerial photograph (GSAP); W half destroyed by quarrying. Burial ground (CO094-08002-) in S quadrant of interior; Man-made underground passage (CO094-121---) in N quadrant.
