Laurence Miagh’s Castle stood on the west side of John’s St beside the town wall, though no marker or ruin remains to show where its stones lay. It may have been a modest stronghold for a local man rather than a grand lordly seat, but the name suggests someone proud enough to build walls in a small town. The castle has vanished so completely that even its street address has blurred, leaving only a name and a shadow of a building behind the wall.

The precise location of Laurence Miagh’s Castle on John’s St has not been identified. Described in the Urban Survey (Bradley et. al. 1989, 152) as following; 'Laurence Miagh’s Castle.
