What is recorded here

Kilmagar is a place of loss and change. The old enclosure is gone, taken for gravel, but the land still holds the shape of what was lost. The bluff remains, marked by small pits where the earth was removed. What disappeared is not forgotten; it is carried in the shape of the place itself.

On a slight bluff on the W side, and a little below, the crest of a ridge. To the E there is a very steep drop into a small stream gorge, and then a more gentle slope down to a rolling plain. Most of the land along the top of the ridge has been reclaimed. There are good views in all directions. It is depicted on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map as a D-shaped enclosure (dims. c. 33m NW-SE; c. 19m NE-SW) with a steep slope from S-NW. There is no visible trace of this monument at ground level.
