What is recorded here
Kilmacow preserves a flat stone marking Edmonde Butler and Katrin Li, dated 1552. They are named without apology, not buried under legend. The chamber holds no scaffold of false certainty, only the two lives and the year they stopped running.
A floor slab commemorating Edmonde Butler and wife Katrin Li [Lee]. The slab is dated 1552. (Cockerham and Harris 2001, 181; pl. 3, 143).
