Templemoyle, also called Ballintemple, Temple Eglish or Templeaglish, marked a sacred anchor in Killylaes and Kilvillis from the late medieval period into modern times. The church and graveyard stood at the heart of local memory, giving identity to families and rituals long before written records reached the area. Its many names suggest a place spoken into shape by generations, each wording preserving a different thread of the same ancient function.
