What is recorded here
Killyberry holds a rath, an ancient earthwork whose boundary still marks the field though no wall remains to prove it. The name survives in official records while the shape has surrendered to grass, rain and forgotten feet. A rath is a room built for one person or one family to keep out the dark, and that much is enough to imagine the life it held.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
