Enclosure in Killuragh

Enclosure

What is recorded here

Situated in reclaimed pasture with good views in all directions. Identified from aerial photographs (Bruff Survey: Map 15, no 26.5; 4/3728), the monument consists of a sub-oval area (30m NE-SW; 27m N-S) defined by a scarped edge (Wth 1.4m; H 0.2m) from NW to S and elsewhere enclosed by an earthen bank (int. H 0.2m; Wth 5.3m; ext. H 0.3m). The morphology of this enclosure indicates that it may be Bronze Age in date (Doody 2008, 130). Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 5 November 2013
